Learning to remember your dreams is necessary if you want to learn to dream lucidly. Until you have excellent dream recall, you won't stand much of a chance of having many lucid dreams.
  Keeping A Dream Journal

    Keeping a dream journal proves prominent when mastering the art of lucid
    dreaming. It will prove useful with things such as Dream Recall and 
    establishing DreamSigns. 



 
    We establish and utilise DreamSigns mainly as a trigger or cue to inform
    ourselves that we are infact dreaming. This gives a rise to consciousness
    or more importantly, dream lucidity.

    Reality checks are one of the many ways oneironaut's test whether they
    are present in the dreamworld. This involves habitual behaviour -
    consistently performing reality checks in waking life to then carry the
    habit over to the dreamworld.

    There are various stages of sleep we encounter every single night. These
    include NREM (Non Rapid Eye Movement) and REM (Rapid Eye
    Movement). REM is typically where we can achieve lucidity.
